Job functions
• Provide on-site client representation services – support seismic contractor and their navigation vendor and provide overall technical assurance for all Geomatics or Geotechnical related activities in Geophysical seismic surveys' to ensure safe field execution, acceptable data quality and results meet/exceed the project aim.
• Carry out comprehensive data analysis of acquired data, utilize relevant software of reviews quality of data and highlight areas needed for focus in ensuring that high quality results are achieved with no negative impact on other linked activity. Review data for gaps while offshore and proffer solutions in closing observed gaps. Ensure no Geodetic integrity failures.
• Perform calibrations and verification of seismic equipment, vessel and sensors.
• Carry out comprehensive data analysis of acquired data, utilize relevant software to review quality of acquired data and highlight areas needed for focus in ensuring that high quality results are achieved with no negative impact on other linked activity.
• Liaise with the onboard vessel management in consultation with Lead Geophysicist to make effective technical and operations decisions in field.
Requirement: Experience & Qualifications
• Shall have recognized B/Sc Degree in surveying, Geosciences, or related science disciplines with minimum of 8 years experience as Operations Offshore surveyor, Seismic Observe, Navigator or QA/QC.
• Experience in offhsore and / or onshore Navigation and Positioning of SEWOPS, Drilling Rigs, Vessels, (including seismic vessels).
• Expertise in vessel positioning utilizing latest offshore positioning tools and equipment (Dynamic and Static Positioning)
• Expertise in Seabed Mapping, Subsurface interpretation and charting, Free span Correction, Surface and Subsea positioning.
• Working knowledge of vessel requirements for various classes of surveys in shallow and deep offshore operations
• Working knowledge of vessel requirements for various classes for of surveys in shall and deep offshore operations
• Expertise in Deepwater Seabed Surveys – Geophysical surveys, Geotechnical Surveys Pipeline Route Surveys, Pipeline Inspection Surveys (water Depths ranking from 700m to 1500m)
• Shall have a recognized B.Sc Degree in surveying, geosciences, or related science discipline with minimum of 12 years experience as Operations Offshore surveyor, Seismic Observer, Navigator or QA/QC.
• Versatile in different Seismic technology such as OBN Streamer and Node on the Rope and ROV operations
• Be able to use lates navigation and positioning software packages used in offshore and onshore seismic industry such as ORCA, Havian (Multiseis), Checkpoint, TINAV, OGIS etc.
